WHAT IS SUBMISSION GRAPPLING?

Submission Grappling is a grappling-based combat sport where the objective is to control your opponent and create opportunities for submission techniques.
Unlike traditional Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, practitioners typically train wearing shorts and a rashguard or suitable sports clothing.
Without the ability to grip a Gi, training places additional emphasis on movement, body positioning, wrestling, control and transitions.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
At Kumite Combat Academy, BJJ training can help you develop:
• Takedowns
• Positional control
• Guard and passing
• Escapes
• Sweeps and reversals
• Transitions
• Submission attacks
• Submission defence
• Wrestling and No-Gi movement

YOU WILL LEARN TECHNIQUES BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN PRACTICE THROUGH DRILLING AND LIVE GRAPPLING.
BJJ vs Submission Grappling
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling share many fundamental principles, but the style of training can feel very different.
No-Gi grappling is often faster and places greater emphasis on wrestling, movement and controlling the body without using clothing grips.
Training both disciplines can help create a more complete grappling skill set.
Beginners Are Welcome
You don't need any previous BJJ, wrestling or martial arts experience.
Beginners can start by learning fundamental positions, movement, control and defence before progressively developing more advanced techniques.
Experienced grapplers can use the sessions to develop their No-Gi game and test their skills through live training.
